Beyond Buzzwords: collaborative design

WE design Glass-House Event Series

An interactive evening exploring the often jargon-heavy language of design and placemaking, how it can be hard to define and mean different things to different people. Beyond Buzzwords: the language of collaborative design was the first event in the WEdesign series of 2018/19 from The Glass-House Community Led Design, in collaboration with The Open University, saw a variety of stakeholders come together for conversation, story-telling and skill sharing to unpack the terms ‘co-design’ and ‘co-production’, and explore how they differ from ‘community-led’ and ‘participatory design’. Community activists, professionals, academics, students and interested individuals joined in lively discussions to establish what these terms really mean, and what they can offer in practice.

The film has been recently added as a resource to the Future of London’s 2023 report Making the Case for Co-production.
