Jeremy Deller: Bats in Space

An image of a bat flying against a black background with purple stripes across the image.

Artist Jeremy Deller and Professor Kate Jones have collaborated on Bats in Space, a new project from Invisible Dust, curated by Alice Sharp. The artist-scientist duo will enable audiences to listen to and see visuals generated by the sound of bats on their night flights along East London's Greenway. On the bat walks the audience will be provided with detectors, mobiles and tablets to lower the high frequency calls to within the human hearing as the bats hunt insects and navigate around the Olympics perimeter.

Bats in Space is an Invisible Dust project curated by Alice Sharp, and runs as part of the CREATE 12 festival and the Meet the Species event as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

The launch of the project took place at The White Building in Hackney Wick.
