The Memory Safe on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

In June 2019 13,000 people descended on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP) for the London’s flagship Great Get Together - a festival in celebration of all we have in common across our different communities inspired by the life and values of MP Jo Cox.

In preparation for the new UCL East campus, due to open on East Bank in 2023 on QUEOP, UCL East has been committed to establishing an active role in the community. As part of the Great Get Together, researchers Leah Lovett and Valerio Signorelli from The Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis worked with creatives from east London arts organisation, Dash Arts to create The Memory Safe. Visitors to The Memory Safe were able to listen to the stories of different objects in an immersive environment.

The event was produced by Briony Fleming part of the Community Engagement Team.
