Leila McMillan: Family Portrait

7 male and female dancers are intertwined in movement against a black background. A tall freestanding lamp glows in the background

Last year I worked with Leila McMillan to document the R&D of her new work evolving from the Flying Low, Passing Through method. This spring saw the development of this in to an hour long show, and I again got the opportunity to document the R&D process, creating a trailer for the show Family Portrait. The resulting piece, created by the whole creative team explores love, humour, frustration, dysfunction and harmony, with the dancers portraying the complexities of family life.
