The Future of Creative Leadership
Over the last few months I have had the privilege to interview a number of fascinating people within the creative sector, regarding the future of leadership within it. The interviewees came from a wide variety of backgrounds and areas of expertise, and all had interesting insights into the sector, the challenges that lie ahead, and what we can look forward to.
The films were created to air at the inaugural elle symposium (Emerging Legacy Leaders East), which saw a panel discussing The Future of Creative Leadership, and in particular, how a new generation of women could transform the arts and culture sector.
The first film set up the debate, whilst the closing one looked to the future, introducing three of the elle associates, and offered some pearls of wisdom from those I interviewed.
Those interviewed were: Laura Haynes, Chairman of Appetite, Alistair Spalding, Artistic Director and Chief Exec of Sadler's Wells, Sue Hoyle, Director of Clore Leadership Programme, Pauline Tambling, Chief Executive of Creative & Cultural Skills, Dr Gus Casely-Hayford, Cultural Historian, Clare Connor, Director of Business Development at Southbank Centre and Maria Delgado, Professor of Theatre and Screen Arts at Queen Mary, University of London.
elle associates were Cat Gray, General Manager at The Yard Theatre, Natalia Barua, Company Coordinator at East London Dance, and Asma Hussain, Development Manager at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
This was an incredibly inspiring project to work on, and I hope it energises others to get out there, believe in yourself and make a difference!
